Removing Super Glue From Your Skin
Posted in Living green on October 29th, 2011 by DarseyHave you ever tried using a super glue? You may have had an accident with it at some point and especially if you are still a novice about how to use it. You would hear about hands becoming attached to wood, fingers stuck together and other incidents. It may be funny at first if it happened to others but if it would happen to your own child, you would start to panic on how to remove it without ripping of the flesh. There is a actually way you can do this and you can make sure no pain will be inflicted while doing so if done correctly.
You will need to have a nail file, a spatula, warm and soapy water, petroleum jelly, antibiotic cream or ointment, acetone and lotion. First, soak the part that got stuck with glue using warm, soapy water. Use a mild soap if you are easily irritated with dishwashing liquid. This will soften the super glue a bit. Wiggle the skin or rolling the skin gently with your fingers to know if the glue can be separated without any pain. A spatula can be another object you can use to help loosen the part. Make sure you don’t force it.
Next, apply antiboitic cream or ointment or even with just petroleum jelly to where your skin got super glue stuck on it. File at the glue with a nail file to break the glue. Do this only when wiggling or rolling has had no effects on the process. Place acetone on the area but be sure to remember that this stains certain materials. Then try to move the skin slowly and remember to never force it or peel it away. Lastly, place lotion on the area that was affected once you have removed the super glue. This is a simple step towards removing super glue painlessly. Make sure you follow them correctly so that it will not cause pain to you and make sure that you would next time be careful in handling any super glue.
